Though Mike very much wanted to just say, "Screw 'em!" she repressed the urge and contritely replied, "As much as I hate to say this, you're right. I really don't think that our kissing one another as passionately as we just were would sit to well with either one of them. While Kathy might cut me some slack under the circumstances, it's a safe bet that Ellen won't be anywhere near as understanding where you're concerned."

"You've got that right! She wouldn't be the least little bit understanding at all!"

Contritely, Mike conceded, "So, even though I'd love for you to kiss me like that again, I think it's probably for the best if you didn't."

"On second thought, kiddo, I'm not so sure we need concern ourselves over much about how our ladies feel about us kissing," John smirked.

"What do you mean?" It was Mike's turn to be inquisitive.

"Well, I just glanced over at the table, and guess who's kissing who!"

"Nooo." Mike responded in disbelief. "You're not seriously suggesting what I think you're suggesting?"

"I most certainly am, good buddy! Your Kathy and my Ellen seem to have suddenly formed a mutual attraction for one another that goes way beyond the platonic."

"You're shittin' me, right?"

"No way, man! I'm telling you the God's honest truth! Our dates are sitting at the table, and they sure as hell look to me to be making out! Look! If you don't believe me, why don't you take a look for yourself!"

Mike did as John had suggested, and to her surprise, John was right. Kathy and Ellen were sitting at the table, going at it hot and heavy. "I do believe that Magatrix had a hand in this."

"And, what leads you to that conclusion, kiddo?"

"Well, when I looked over at our table, Magatrix caught my eye. She then smiled, and winked. Then, just to make doubly sure I understood that she had interceded on our behalf, she gave me a thumbs-up. That's to say that I truly believe that Magatrix was trying to let me know that she had the situation well in hand, and that we needn't concern ourselves about our dates, owing to the fact that they are rather preoccupied at the moment."
